Instructions for Presentations:
1. Available Time
In a parallel session, each speaker should plan for a
15-minute presentation
and 5 minutes of Q&A
and discussion, for a total of 20
minutes. Any extra time used for presentation will shorten the time
for Q&A.
In a plenary session, each speaker should plan for a 20-minute
presentation and 8 minutes of Q&A, for a total time of 28
minutes. Likewise, any extra time used for presentation will shorten the
time of Q&A.
In a poster session, each speaker should plan to be available to
present and discuss his/her results with interested attendees over the
90-minute session.
2. Presentation Material
In both the parallel and plenary sessions, a laptop and projector will be
available. Please prepare your presentations as PowerPoint or PDF
files for a Windows XP or earlier environment. We cannot guarantee
operation with files generated under Vista. To ensure smooth operation and
avoid any last-minute difficulties, we would like to assemble the
presentation material according to their sessions and preload them prior to
the sessions. For this reason, you are requested to
send your presentation material via
email to itc20@sympatico.ca not
later than Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Please identify your file with
your session number and your last name. Please note that the
presentation files will not be kept after the conference and will be erased
from all systems after the conference. If, for whatever reason you cannot
comply with this request, please inform us your plan. Thank you for your
cooperation.
For poster session presenters, please note that each paper has been
allocated a booth equipped with a poster board ( Area: 4 feet high by 8 feet
wide), a table and power. It is your choice on how to present your results
via posters, laptop, or its combination. We regret that we cannot provide a
projector. You do not need to send any material ahead of time.
3. Brief Biography
The session chair will introduce you before your presentation. Please have a
printed
biography ready when you will
meet the session chair. Please keep your biography short (e.g. not more than
a 5-line paragraph) so that the session chair does not need to do any
editing.
4. Best Student Paper Prize
For presenters who are: a) the first or lead author of the paper, b) a
full-time student (or were at the time of paper submission), and c) would
like to participate in this competition, please sign up when registering at
the Registration Desk. An anonymous team of judges will evaluate both the
